Produce power and profits, not pollution. Go Green with OILES bearings.

Produce power and profits, not pollution. Go Green with OILES bearings.

Protecting the environment is a critical issue worldwide. To keep our planet healthy, every industry has to contribute. Hydropower plants and dams can play a very positive role. By going green, the industry can protect the rivers that nourish so many forms of life, while powering our cities and homes with greater efficiency.

OILES bearings are an essential step toward building ‘Green‘ dam gates that deliver power with minimal impact on the environment. Installed in hydro-turbines and dam gates, OILES bearings do not contain three of the most harmful sources of pollution:

  • Grease. - Self-lubricating design eliminates greasing
  • Oil. - Oil-free design protects rivers from oil pollution
  • Lead. - Lead-free design protects rivers from lead pollution

OILES bearings not only save the environment, they also save money, manpower and time. By eliminating costly, high-maintenance lubrication systems, OILES bearings

  • Simplify turbine and gate design
  • Shorten design cycles
  • Reduce initial equipment costs
  • Reduce maintenance costs associated with lubrication
  • Reduce replacement costs by delivering extended service life

OILES bearings deliver both environmental and economic benefits. That’s why they’re the choice of high-profile, high-tech projects around the world, including the Three Gorges Dam in China. OILES bearings have been installed worldwide in more than 1,200 hydropower plants since 1952.

OILES bearings for your hydro-turbines, water gates and pump storages.

  • #500SP1-SL4 : a self-lubricating bearing for heavy-load applications.  This bearing consists of a high-strength brass alloy base.  Fabricated with an advanced casting technique, it contains a proprietary solid lubricant, which is embedded to eliminate the need for external lubrication.
  • #500SP4-SL4 : a self-lubricating bearing made of ASTM-standard-based alloy (C86300). #500SP4 is the ASTM version of #500SP1.
  • #500SP5-SL4 : features higher strength and hardness than 500SP1. This bearing is fabricated with a special high-strength brass casting as the base metal and integrates solid lubricant to eliminate the need for external lubrication. This bearing exhibits superior wear-resistance in high load applications.
  • #500AB-SL4 : features an aluminum-bronze alloy and plugged solid lubricant. This bearing provides excellent corrosion-resistance and heat-tolerance.
