Method of press-fitting

Regarding press-fitting jig

Apply mandrel for regular press-fitting, as shown in figure-1.
By using a guide ring as shown in figure-2, press-fitting method will be smoother.
Some of the merits in using a guide ring are: prevention of damage to bush within press-fitting,
enabling more precise level of roundness and central position after press-fitting, etc.

Please calculate dimension of mandrel from the table below.
Nominal dimension of bush Dimension of mandrel
I.D. D0  d0 = D0 - (0.05 to 0.10)
O.D. D1  d1 = D1 - (0.20 to 0.30)

Regarding housing chamfer

Either R-chamfering or a tapered chamfering is recommended for a housing.
In cases of C-chamfering (more than C1.0), check that there is no burr on housing surface after chamfering. The use of oil or grease facilitates smoother press-fitting.

Method of press-fitting

Please use hydraulic pressure, pneumatic pressure, or a vice for press-fitting. Avoid methods of press-fitting which engage physical impact such as fitting by a hammer, that may cause damage to bush, or the changes in inside diameter of bush.
